Hello, everyone ! I am Monica from Romania , for those who doesn't know that ( I've noticed that many people here call me Monica, so yeah, thanks for remembering my name, heheh)...and I am harmless, or at least I am doing my best to be !!!
I really need some help here ... I don't know when a photo it is meant to be in the photography or in manipulations category....
For example ... a few days ago someone told me that maybe I should put one of my work in the photography category, not in the manipulations, few hours later ...someone else told me that my photo( from photography category) has a lot of unnatural colors( meaning that I've played with the original and modified it).)... so, my question is... if I shoot plants, trees, nature , in general and I am working only with tones, colors, levels etc without distorting the original form, where should I put it? In photography or in digital manipulations- plants ? I am really confused and I feel like a dump because, somehow I feel like what I do, is disturbing for some people...how altered the colors should be so I can still consider my photo a photo???
I am not a photographer,( even if I've studied in college one year the art of photography)... I am ...I am trying to be , a manipulator... yeah, I shoot a lot... but I don't have the techniques and necessary experience to call my self a photographer, but... in the photography menu we can browse photos taken with very bad quality cell phones, and also corrected in PS and actually they accepted those there... I am NOT trying to say that those works are not belonging there,( I have a very low quality camera on my cell phone, actually, if I think twice...my phone doesn't own a camera, the old one used to have, but now it's dead and gone )... I just don't want to make some fellows uncomfortable because I upload my work in the wrong place, or it is the good one?...please... help !!!
...Aww and I have the same problem with my doll manipulations... if I take a person's portrait(stock) and change it the way I do... where should I put it? some of my old work, that I've uploaded under photo manipulations -people, where removed ... I am so confused !
Please.. if some brainiac may enlighten me, or a good Samaritan ...!!! ...i would be so happy and thankful!
